Bush is jealous. Truman is the only president and world leader to authorize the use of atomic weapons when he ordered and praised the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Bush has recently declared that he is the commander in chief and leader in WW III.
In Bush's speaches at West Point on Saturday and Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day he is laying the groundwork and "foundation" as he puts it for his legacy which includes plans for use of nuclear weapons in the Middle East.
A good post in Huffington Post "Pre-Emptive Self Congratulations"
If John Galloway says that assasination of Tony Blair is justified on moral grounds I wonder how many virgins await those on this side of the pond? Of course I'm not calling for the assasination of Bush as John Galloway is not calling for the assasination of Tony Blair. (Gotta make sure that's clear to the NSA trollers out there)
The US is winning! Bush still has some catching up to do to accomplish what Saddam Hussein did but he is way ahead in the uncertainty of life and death over there. IED's were not a major problem under Saddam's rule.
I've seen estimates on the 35 years under Saddam from 200,000 to a million. But at the rate BushCo is going it's pretty neck and neck.
As of Friday May 27 the US body count was 2640. With about 18,000 wounded.
Irai body count, counted in detail, not estimated, is around 40,000. That does include the 15 who were executed by Marines on Nov 19, 2005.
Happy Memorial Day
Update:
The Iraqi civilians aren't the enemy? They are just the "collateral" damage? Does Bush know this? Wow, sounds like maybe things are not going so well.
This is great. If they say that, then that means this, so then it really means that "God" is the ultimate abortionist. Boycott churches, especially Catholic churches which practice the godless rhythm method.
That great and arbitrary abortionist in the sky
. . .
That last argument is the interesting one. If we accept the anti-choicer's claim that the zygote is a baby at the moment of fertilization, and the abortion rate is about 46 million per year world wide, and the number of live births is approximately equally to the number of spontaneous abortions, and the number of babies born last year was about 80 million…that means God killed almost twice as many babies as the abortionists did last year. That psychopathic bastard.
I want to see the anti-choicers start picketing churches instead of abortion clinics. . . .(link Pharyngula)
Update: The comments are even better. I liked one comment talking about the Catholic position of the wafer-god and then the first which I've copy/pasted below. Save souls! Abortion Saves!
It's easy to argue that abortion "saves" more people than any attempts at evangelism. Assuming all unborn children go to Heaven if they are aborted, then there are 46 million souls in Heaven today that avoided a risky existence here on Earth and thus avoided a good chance (well over 50% in the USA) of going to Hell for eternity.
Just watch a Christian prolifer squirm when you point that out to them.(link)

Among other things, this means all women between first menstrual period and menopause should take folic acid supplements, refrain from smoking, maintain a healthy weight and keep chronic conditions such as asthma and diabetes under control.
. . .
Research shows that "during the first few weeks (before 52 days' gestation) of pregnancy" -- during which a woman may not yet realize she's pregnant -- "exposure to alcohol, tobacco and other drugs; lack of essential vitamins (e.g., folic acid); and workplace hazards can adversely affect fetal development and result in pregnancy complications and poor outcomes for both the mother and the infant," the report states.
. . .
Actually no. I made up the headline. But can that be far behind after newpapers such as the Washington Post run stories like this? Gotta keep that breeding stock healthy. (via watertiger)
Forever Pregnant
Guidelines: Treat Nearly All Women as Pre-PregnantBy January W. Payne
Washington Post Staff Writer

New federal guidelines ask all females capable of conceiving a baby to treat themselves -- and to be treated by the health care system -- as pre-pregnant, regardless of whether they plan to get pregnant anytime soon. . .
Update: Good commentary on Salon
Holy "Handmaid's Tale," Batman!
Want to get really freaked out? Check out the first paragraph of today's Washington Post story "Forever Pregnant," which explains that new federal guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention ask "all females capable of conceiving a baby to treat themselves -- and to be treated by the health care system -- as pre-pregnant, regardless of whether they plan to get pregnant anytime soon."

And he(Bush) will be lying, again, just as he lied when he said: "Massive deportation of the people here is unrealistic – it's just not going to work."
Not only will it work, but one can easily estimate how long it would take. If it took the Germans less than four years to rid themselves of 6 million Jews, many of whom spoke German and were fully integrated into German society, it couldn't possibly take more than eight years to deport 12 million illegal aliens, many of whom don't speak English and are not integrated into American society. How many times do people have to say "PLAN-B IS NOT ABORTION" and explain (PZ Meyers explains in great detail) why it's not abortion that it has nothing to do with abortion. The wingnuts - this time a congressional candidate - just plain LIE. He is also supported by the hate group Focus on the Family. TBogg has a discussion and dissection of the lies. Via Hullabaloo
Breathless stupidity!
Enormous gaps in logic!
More non sequiturs than you could shake a stick at!
I have always said that what makes blogging incredibly easy is the wide wide world of stupidity that parades itself before our disbelieving eyes every day. Which is to say: I've read some seriously stupid shit over the past four years. This column, coming as it does from a Congressional candidate in North Carolina is absolutely stunning due in no small part to the overwhelming volume of "what the fuck?" moments. Let's begin, shall we?: (continue reading TBogg)The pill that kills -- available at a doctor near you

Imagine going to your doctor and being offered a pill—not because you were sick, or in any danger of becoming sick. No—your friendly physician is simply giving you drugs because you’re a woman. (link to full text of lies)

I followed some links the other day and came across a very right wing, holocaust denying white supremacist site. Yeah, well those people are sick. They're fringe wackos. Well I was mistaken – they are not fringe. Fox New picked it up and made it a talking point.
Gibson: "Make more babies" because in "[t]wenty-five years ... the majority of the population is Hispanic"
Summary: On The Big Story
, John Gibson urged viewers to "[d]o your duty. Make more babies," because he had found out, from a recently released report, that nearly half of all children under the age of five in the United States are minorities. Gibson added: "You know what that means? Twenty-five years and the majority of the population is Hispanic." Gibson later repeated: "To put it bluntly, we need more babies." (link to text and video)
